This research aims to analyze the use of politeness strategies in
the television show "Belgravia-The Next Chapter" through
Brown and Levinson's theory of politeness strategies. This
research examines how the main character use various politeness
strategies to navigate social interactions, manage face-threatening
acts (FTAs), and maintain social harmony and how affective thus
strategies. The research method used is qualitative analysis of the
dialogue in the event. Based on the research results, there were 22
data obtained in this research. The research results show that
actors often use diverse politeness strategies, including positive
politeness, negative politeness, and off-record strategies. These
findings highlight how language and social norms influence each
other in shaping communication. The politeness strategies most
often used by actors in their utterances are positive politeness,
negative politeness, and off-record strategies. in The conclusion
of this study is that politeness strategies play an important role in
effective communication. Strategic use of language to reduce
FTAs, express empathy, and build positive relationships.
